6 WILDCAT WRESTLERS CROWNED CHAMPS at LOCUST VALLEY

Posted Monday, January 22, 2007 by Ken Richards

Results from Locust Valley

23 Wildcat wrestlers entered the Locust Valley tournament.
6 left the building as Champions.
All 23 wrestled hard, wrestled well and got great experience
for the future!

After dropping our traditional first 6 or 7 matches (and winning only our first 3 of 13), Wildcats kids again roared back to finish 22-20 (.524) on the day, for the best statistical day in our Club's 1.5 year existence. We really need to get the little guys some Red Bull for those early morning matches!
We had been AT .500 several times, but had never broken it.

The hard work that the kids are puttting in during practice is starting to pay off!

LOCUST VALLEY RESULTS:

NOTE: Anthony Cerrone won his 1st match of the day, doing his best wrestling of the year. Unforunately, he had to leave before the finals due to a family commitment and could not wrestle for the Championship. The way Anthony was wrestling, there was a good chance he too would have won the Championship. In his absence, he was awarded 4th place.

Matt Mageau and Spencer Ganley had to wrestle against each other and had a very exciting match. Mark Perrone, Mike Contrastano, Charlie Forero, Dylan Laube and Mike Scaldaferri all also wrestled well and improved with each match.

The coaches were very happy with the effort. The most important improvement is improved mat awareness. Great job Wildcats!
